We left the last sun of the day for them, the imposing Petronas Towers. Raised between 1995 and 1998, they held the primacy of the tallest buildings in the world until 2004.

They really look endless! To get the best view you have to get away a little and reach the front yard, where a wretched little man sells curved lenses to position over the cellphone and take pictures with fish eye effect, in order to frame the towers in all their grandeur. We see the people around us jumping, bending, crouching in search of the perfect memory photo – the phone screen is too small for them.

We are also captured by the photo raptus and begin to shoot, snap, as the colors change, the light fades and the gray sky first becomes blue and then black. As the minutes pass through the twin towers  shaped as an eight-pointed star (which is at the same time a reference to Islamic architecture and auspicious according to Chinese numerology) are increasingly spectacular and hypnotic, especially when daylight is replaced by the yellow electric lights, which contrast the dark of the evening.
